A great many people do believe that to be single is to be somehow incomplete and that they need to find their “other half.” […] We believe, on the other hand, that the fundamental sexual unit is one person; adding more people to that unit may be intimate, fun, and companionable but does not complete anybody. In 1994, Alice in Chains’ Layne Staley, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, Screaming Trees’ Barrett Martin and the Walkabouts’ John Baker Saunders came together to form Mad Season, venturing into hard-edged blues with their new project. The band released their only album, Above, the following year, but put things on hold soon after. On April 2nd, Mad Season will release a deluxe reissue of Above, complete with unreleased tracks from the unfinished second album. Listen exclusively to Mad Season’s “Locomotive” ahead of its April 2nd release.

They don’t deserve it.) The ocean and the Earth can handle your anger. They are as volatile. Powerful. Inherently energetic. So are you. Don’t numb yourself. Don’t kill yourself. We need you. We need your love, your generosity, your joy, your bright, bright, light.
